This works great to adapt a standard pc headset for use on an ipod touch, iphone or macbook. Great for using an ipod touch as a skype phone.

I have a comfy noise cancelling PC headset because I’m always using Skype for my business. Because I’m on the phone all the time now, I wanted to use my computer headset with my new samsung smartphone. Instead of blowing another $100 on a headset, I bought this great little adapter. It saved me a ton of money and works perfect. Because it’s a dual use adapter, not only does with work with my smartphone, but it also works with my home phone that has a 2.5mm plug. There is no reduction in sound quality and everyone can hear me perfectly. This thing saved my life!

I got this so I could mount a microphone in my car to use voice control on my iPod touch. It did not work directly with my lavaliere microphone, because the it will only read a STEREO mic input and most mics are mono. So I just needed a mono to stereo adapter and not it works great. My iPod is completely hands free. Safety first! Ha.

Works great, sound quality is great.
I bought this adapter for my Viliv S5 after seeing a video on youtube showing that you can use an iphone headset with the viliv s5 and be able to voice chat with it, but my aim was to use a single mono mic to record lectures.
Pros
- Works great, with excellent audio quality.
- Use any different combination of audio input/output equipment you like with it (speakers, headphones, headsets, mics)
Cons
- Mic port has to be stereo. Most headsets use stereo mics, so if you’re using it with a headset it won’t be a problem, but if you need to use a mono mic you’ll have to purchase a “mono to stereo” adapter to use in combination with it – you can find one here:

My Thinkpad T410 laptop has only one jack, which is called “combo audio jack”.
It was designed for audio input and output, but my external microphone cannot work on it.
Luckily, I found this adapter, so I can use my external earphone and microphone at the same time.
